Campaign Finance

Get corporate money out of politics

In 2010 the United States Supreme Court ruled in favor, on a split decision, of

Citizens United. Which gave first amendment rights to corporations.

Corporations were then allowed to:

  • Directly donate to candidates
  • Run ads on behalf of their political interests
  • Effectively buy out politicians

We need a constitutional amendment to overturn the decision on Citizens United and to support campaign finance reform.

In the meantime, we must support legislation to increase the oversight power of the FEC to properly enforce campaign finance laws that are already on the books.

I promise to never take corporate PAC money, and to hold my voting card to my constituents.
